What began as an idea when he was 15-years-old turned into a multimillion dollar purchase by Yahoo.

Nick D’Aloisio came up with Summly- a service that brings snapshots of news stories to users on mobile devices and formats articles for smaller screens.

The now 17-year-old has made a deal with Yahoo for the acquisition of Summly, but the specific amount of the purchase has not been disclosed.

This purchase comes only four months after Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer said the company would focus more on mobile strategy, specifically news, sports, and apps.
