After leaving a lengthy suicide note, a woman jumped from a
New York apartment building to her death with her baby in her arms.

Police say that the 10-month-old baby boy was taken to a Harlem hospital Thursday, but has been listed under stable condition.

The woman has been identified as Cynthia Wachenheim and is
said to have shared the seven-page suicide note with her husband.
The Huffington Post reports that in the note, Wachenheim knew what she was doing was “evil” but was concerned with her child’s development.
A local resident says that he saw Wachenheim take the fall as well as the baby bouncing from the mother's body and landing on the ground nearby.
