A St. Louis-area Panera Bread is serving turkey chili in a bread bowl for…whatever the customer wants to pay.

This particular item is made from all-natural, antibiotic-free turkey combined with vegetables and beans in a bread bowl.

The turkey chili in a bowl is part of a trial run that will be hitting all 48 Panera Breads in the St. Louis-area.

Panera calls the trial “Meal of Shared Responsibility” and has the idea in mind that customers who can afford the $5.89 for the bowl will pay for it.

The money from the paying customers would in turn pay for the bowl for customers who cannot afford it.

Florida Police Chief Richard Beary believes that Seevakumaran pulled a fire alarm in order to get students outside and exposed for an attack.

Beary also says that he is confident that the police’s fast response to the situation made Seevakumaran change his decision about carrying out the attack.

U.S. to Increase Missile Defense

 http://rt.com/files/news/1e/5b/20/00/north-korea-us-interceptors.si.jpg

In response to a potential attack from North Korea, the United States will be adding 14 more ground-based missile interceptors on its West Coast.

The phrase “potential attack” comes from a recent nuclear threat made by North Korea to South Korea and the U.S. in regards to increased U.N. sanctions over a nuclear test made by the North.

Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel made the announcement Friday of the interceptor increase and said the increase will give the U.S. “the security it needs”.

CBS reports that Hagel also says that he is ready to “ensure protection of the U.S. homeland and stay ahead of the North Korean missile threat”.

The Pentagon plans to spend at least $1 billion dollars on the interceptors and will place them with the other 26 in Fort Greely, Alaska.

Science News: Mars had Conditions to Support Life

A group of NASA scientists working with the Curiosity rover made an announcement Tuesday indicating they found an environment on Mars that could have played host to living microbes.
Curiosity project scientist John Grotzinger said in a statement:

"We have found a habitable environment that is so benign, and supportive of life, that probably if this water was around and you had been on the planet, you would have been able to drink it."

The rover drilled into a sedimentary rock and was able to find clay materials, which would indicate that water played a role at some point.

NPR reports that Curiosity also “found sulfur, nitrogen, hydrogen, oxygen, phosphorus, and carbon – key ingredients for life”.

Police Officer Convicted on Cannibal-Plot Charges

Gilberto Valle, 28

New York City Officer Gilberto Valle was convicted Tuesday on charges of plotting to kidnap, cook, and eat several women.

Analysis of the officer’s computer showed that he was taking steps in order to kidnap the women, one of which was his wife.

The Associated Press reports that Valle has an “admitted fetish for talking on the Internet about cannibalism”.

Lawyers on Valle’s defense said that what was found on the computer was the officer playing out a fantasy created while he browsed fetish websites.

The 28-year-old convicted officer faces life in prison.
