A mentally disabled woman caught
shoplifting told authorities about three people that held her captive a little south of Cleveland, Ohio for more
than a year.
The 29-year-old woman told
investigators she was forced to perform housework by her captors.
The captors allegedly threatened to
harm her and her child with their pet snake and pit bulls.
The attorney for the Northern
District of Ohio described the living conditions for the woman and her child as
“simply subhuman”.
Law enforcement officials say the
mother and daughter were sometimes forced to eat dog food and had little access
to the bathroom.
Jordie Callahan, Jessica Hunt, and
Daniel Brown were arrested and charged with forced labor.
A lawyer for Callahan called the
allegations against the trio ludicrous.
Should have been charged with Human Trafficking.
