Resignation of CIA Director David Petraeus (Follow-Up)

With suspicion that his e-mail account had been compromised, FBI agents investigated threatening messages involving former CIA Director David Petraeus.

The investigation surfaced when the FBI was notified of messages by a friend of Petraeus.

The friend notified the FBI for protection and the messages were traced back to former military officer Paula Broadwell.

Broadwell was the biographer for Petraeus and co-author for "All In: The Education of General David Petraeus" released in early 2012.

The two had spent time together in Afghanistan while she did research for the book.

The FBI found messages sent between Petraeus and Broadwell that were explicit and revealed a marital affair.
