Post-Election Day

President Obama is getting another four years in the White House after yesterday's election.

According to polling results found by CNN, the President won the election with 303 electoral votes and his opponent, Governor Romney, lost with 206.

With the election being neck-and-neck for several months in projected results, the outcome was rather close with the President taking over 60 million votes and Romney with less than 60 million.

In addition to the Presidential Election, Washington and Colorado became the first states to legalize the recreational use of marijuana.

Under federal law, marijuana is still illegal and will likely pose a challenge for Washington and Colorado.

A referendum was also taken in Puerto Rico to decide if the citizens wanted to change the status of the island from a U.S. territory to the 51st state.

More than 50 percent of Puerto Ricans voted saying they were not content with their island being a U.S. territory, and 64 percent voted in favor of statehood.

Whether or not Puerto Rico will become a state is still unclear.
