Boxer Hector Camacho is Removed from Life Support


Fifty-year-old Puerto Rican boxer Hector “Macho” Camacho was removed from 
life support early Saturday morning.

His mother decided to take him off life support on Friday when the doctors at Centro Medico in San Juan, Puerto Rico had declared him clinically brain dead.

On Tuesday, Camacho was in a parked car with a friend in front of a bar in Bayamon, Puerto Rico where they were shot.

Camacho was shot in the face and later sent to the hospital where he was placed on life support.

His friend, Adrian Mojica Moreno, was killed on the scene during the shooting

Police report that Mojica had several small bags of cocaine in his pocket when they
examined his body.

Camacho fought professionally since the 1980’s and has fought other boxing professionals such as six-time world champion Julio César Chávez.

He was a three time world champion boxer and fought in the featherweight division.
