Gaza/Israel Ceasefire Passes 24-hour Mark


A cease-fire was declared between Israel and Gaza on Wednesday, and it has now passed the 24-hour mark as of 1 P.M. (CST)

Palestinian leaders declared that the ceasefire was a victory, and that it would help bring unity to the divided region.

Israel has expressed satisfaction that the exchanging of missiles has now quieted.

The streets of Gaza City were filled with citizens who celebrated the ceasefire as fireworks were set off in the sky.

During the eight-day conflict, over 150 Palestinian have died as well as six Israeli.

The next stage after the ceasefire would be to discuss opening borders between the divided nations.
