Young Teacher Accused of Having Sex With Student


Twenty-Two-Year-Old Kayla Trueblood was arrested by police earlier this week on charges of having sexual relations with a 16-year-old student.

Trueblood works at Mossville Junior High where she teaches gifted students and serves as the scholastic bowl coach.

The Peoria Country Sheriff’s Department apprehended Trueblood after a tip was given saying that she was having relations with a student.

Officials say that she was cooperative during questioning and that the student involved doesn’t attending the school.

Mossville Junior High officials said that they were disappointed that the situation had taken place and they feel bad for the student involved.

Trueblood has been charged with criminal sexual abuse and faces a maximum of three to seven years in prison if convicted.
