Tunnel Collapse Near Tokyo, Japan Traps Vehicles


At least five people were feared to be trapped in a tunnel collapse that happened Sunday morning west of Tokyo, Japan (5PM CST).

There has been one woman who has emerged from the tunnel and has been taken to the hospital.

She told the local news outlet NHK that she was with five others in a van during the time of the collapse.

She went on to say that she had no idea what happened to them.

NHK reported that there was smoke coming from the tunnel and that a fire was believed to be inside.

Nearly 330 feet of the Chuo Expressway caved in and left an undetermined amount of vehicles trapped beneath the rubble.
