Suicide Bomber Kills Nine During Political Rally in Pakistan

During a political rally that opposes the Taliban, a suicide bomber killed nine people including a government official on Saturday.

Bashir Bilour of the provincial Cabinet within the Khyber Pakhtunkhawa province was among those who died.

Local police reported that at least 20 people were injured in the blast.

An Al Jazeera correspondent reported that Bilour was taken to the hospital to be treated, but died there due to the severity of the injury.

Al Jazeera also reports that:

“Balour was the brother of the Pakistani railways minister who put a bounty on the California film-maker who produced the anti-Islam video which caused mass protests in September.”
