Coast Guard Seizes 100 Million Dollars’ Worth of Cocaine

Over the course of three drug seizures, the U.S. Coast guard has managed to seize cocaine worth $100 million from smugglers in recent days.

The Coast Guard made their first drug seizure valued at $55 million off the coast of Florida’s east coast.

Another 3,967 pounds of cocaine was found Wednesday by the Coast Guard crew in St. Petersburg, Florida. The cocaine found was part of two law enforcement cases.

Within a couple of days a 1,873 pounds of cocaine was apprehended by authorities from a sailboat south of the Dominican Republic.

A total of 20,895 pounds of cocaine has been found by the Coast Guard in the last five months during an operation known as Unified Resolve.

This operation has resulted in the Coast Guard apprehending $262 dollars’ worth of cocaine and marijuana.
