Instagram Can Use User Photos Without Consent

A new clause in the Instagram policy and terms of service will be inserted that will allow Facebook to use user-uploaded content with consent..

This new clause is to be put into the agreement on January 16th and is supposed to read something like this:

"To help us deliver interesting paid or sponsored content or promotions, you agree that a business or other entity may pay us to display your username, likeness, photos (along with any associated metadata), and/or actions you take, in connection with paid or sponsored content or promotions, without any compensation to you.”

Facebook purchased Instagram earlier this year for $1 billion, and this amendment to the agreement could help generate more revenue.

CNN reports that several users of the site have been calling for other users to drop the application before the clause goes into affect.
