NHL and Players' Union Make 10-Year Agreement

After its hockey season being cancelled due to a deal unable to be reached, the NHL and its players reached a deal Sunday morning.

A deal was settled after 16 hours of discussion between the league and the labor union that brought about a 10-year agreement.

The NHL season begins on January 15th and had a deal not been reached a second lockout would likely take the season.

Team owners in the NHL as well as close to 740 players must still agree the 10-year agreement.

This deal comes on the 113th day of the lockout that went into effect in September of 2012.
