Archeologists Uncover 3,000-year-old Egyptian Tomb

A team of Italian archaeologists said on Thursday that they have come across tombs in Egypt that are 3,000 years old.

Angelo Sesana led the team and says the tombs were found under a pile of debris while cleaning up the dig site.

Inside the tomb were human remains, wooden sarcophaguses, and jars to preserve the organs of the deceased.

The tombs were found beneath the city of Luxor, a city that dates back to 3200 B.C. when it was first civilized.

NBC reports that the tombs were found within a temple of Pharaoh Amenhotep II, who reigned from 1401 to 1427 during Egypt’s 18th Dynasty.
