Terrance Ervin Daniels is recovering in a Burlington, North
Carolina hospital after being stabbed last week from a misunderstanding of use
of sign language.
Burlington police officials say that Daniels was signing
with another deaf man when a third man thought they were flashing gang signs
and stabbed him.
The Associated Press reports that 22-year-old Robert Jarell
Neal was arrested and charged with several counts including intent to kill.
Neal has been jailed since the stabbing and has been put on
a $500,000 bond.
