Airline Pilot Arrested for Breathalyzer Failure

American Eagle pilot Kolbjorn Kristiansen was arrested Friday morning for failing a Breathalyzer test with intent to pilot a plane.

Kristiansen was going to perform checks aboard the plane from Minneapolis to New York as a TSA agent smelled alcohol on his breath and issued the test.

When he completed the checks, Kristiansen left the plane and was confronted with the test.

After failing the test, the pilot was taken to a hospital and was later released to the airline with charges pending.

American Eagle spokesperson Matt Miller said that Kristiansen has since been suspended from the airline.

A spokesman for the Minneapolis airport says that the airport police are waiting for the return of the blood test results before filing charges.
