After making numerous threats in recent weeks to launch a missile strike against the U.S., North Korea moved a missile to its east coast on Thursday.

An official of a U.S. State Department said that the component of the missile and launch equipment could threaten South Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has made an appeal to North Korea in an attempt to get the country to cease its current course of action.

Some believe the North isn’t capable of having missiles that could carry nuclear warheads.

A White House spokesman says that the threats are “regrettable but familiar” and that the US is doing what it can to take “necessary precautions.”
