During a political rally that opposes the Taliban, a suicide bomber killed nine
people including a government official on Saturday.
Bashir Bilour of the provincial Cabinet within the Khyber Pakhtunkhawa province was among those who died.

Local police reported that at least 20 people were injured
in the blast.
An Al Jazeera correspondent reported that Bilour was taken
to the hospital to be treated, but died there due to the severity of the
injury.
Al Jazeera also reports that:
“Balour was the brother of the
Pakistani railways minister who put a bounty on the California film-maker who
produced the anti-Islam video which caused mass protests in September.”
