New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has extended the gas
rationing in the city until Thanksgiving.
The rationing system allows cars with license plates ending in even numbers to fill up on even-number days.
Those with odd numbers may fill up their vehicles on odd-numbered days.
Although the rationing was lifted in New Jersey, people still wait in lines in New York City.
Mayor Bloomberg says that the lines are shortening.
“The odd-even license pate system has worked well and helped to reduce wait times and lines at the pump,” says Bloomberg.
NewYorkStateGasPrices.com reports that one of the highest price for gas is $4.99 at a Sunoco gas station in Queens.
