A car bomb exploded near the Dama Rose hotel in Damascus,
Syria earlier today.
The explosion shook the building and shattered many
windows, wounding 12 people.
This explosion comes six days after the bombing of the
Damascus suburbs that caused the deaths of 10 people.
While Damascus was dealing with the car bomb, a meeting of
the Syrian opposition was being held in Doha, Qatar.
The meeting in Doha was held in hopes of ending the rule
of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Under Assad’s rule, tens of thousands of people have been
killed.
The United States government is pushing for a new and
reformed leadership to be put into place should Assad be removed.
