Egypt Military: President Morsi Given Ultimatum

The Egyptian military made a statement giving its country’s civilian government until Wednesday to accept the demands from the people.

The military said if the demands are not met then it will intervene and keep the peace of the country.

The statement was made across the nation via radio and television in what has been named the “48-hour ultimatum” in order to “shoulder the burden of a historic moment” in Egypt.

Hundreds of thousands of protesters showed their opposition to their president and called for his ouster.

In Tahrir square, the protesters were heard shouting “step down, step down.”
